JEWELLERY TRENDS FOR THE WEDDING SEASON
It’s that time of the year again, the festival of lights leading us further to the Wedding season. The best time to take out all your hidden treasures and take them out for a spin. You can spruce up that otherwise sober attire with the perfect jewellery pieces. Adding that over the top sparkle to your already stylish attire.
Wearing the same jewellery in the same way can be boring. Experimentation is the key to all things exciting. Here are some ways that you can experiment with the various baubles.
NECKLACE
- The Layering Game
By far the most interesting way to change the look but the most difficult one to master. But once you get a hang of it you can play around creating multiple looks. It’s all about right combination and execution.
The layered look usually consists of two to three necklaces of varying lengths depending on the kind of necklaces you want to create the look with and of course the occasion. According to varying lengths the necklaces can be segregated as the following:

While the everyday casual look can be achieved with three delicate neckpieces with chains of varying lengths having small stones or charms. The Festive look can be achieved by layering a Choker with a longer necklace depending on the length you want to achieve. Each of the necklaces needs to be at least two inches apart so that each necklace gets emphasis and shines through.
Take a cue from Blogger Auyushi Bangur Sahu (Styledrive) on how to nail the layering game. She’s wearing the ‘Noorani Choker’,the ‘Rani Haar’, and the ‘Royal Grace Necklace’ respectively. While Aayushi has layered three similar toned neckpieces you can be experimental using different coloured stones, mixing and matching various lengths and teaming heavy pieces with slightly subtle ones.
Here Aayushi has layered the choker with the long necklace teaming it with this clean blazer giving it an Indo western twist.
Add a Dash of Colour to your look with the ‘Stardust Choker’ along with the ‘White Fantasy’ Necklace.
- Long Necklaces as Waist Belts
Tired of wearing the same long necklace the same way every time? An added functionality to any kind of jewellery can do wonders. That versatile long necklace can also be used as a waist belt. All you have to do is just place it well around your waist along with statement earrings and you are ready to sparkle the night away.
Aayushi spotted here slaying the trend.
- Back Necklaces
Another trend doing the rounds is wearing your long necklace backwards. It’s a fresh take on wearing your neck baubles differently doing justice to your ‘oh so lonely’ back which often gets neglected. Also make sure to camouflage the back hook of the necklace which comes to the front otherwise it can break the look. It’s not a new trend considering many Hollywood celebrities over the years have been sporting this look but definitely a fresh take if done right with Indian sensibility

EARRINGS
- The Sahara Chain Earrings
You often stumble upon the traditional saharas going through your grandmother’s jewellery or often spot them wearing it. Originally worn to give support to the heavy earrings so that it does not put too much pressure on the Lobule. The saharas are the latest trends various designers are experimenting with. They add character to the earrings and sometimes extend till the hair adorning it beautifully.
